After writing my first novel, Beautiful Disaster, readers often asked, "Will there be a sequel?" The question caught me off guard. I couldn't fathom a story beyond the one I'd told about Mia and Flynn. Still, readers would inquire. While I truly felt Mia & Flynn's story was complete, I was intrigued by the idea of writing characters that, by design, linked together. Stories that connected one book to the next. Enter the Clairmonts--siblings whose stories intertwine, lending themselves to a true series. As an author, I wondered if I'd become as attached to the characters L J. Wilson created, as those women's fiction author Laura Spinella invented. I assure you, I did. A small confession--I also chose to make Ruby Ink and the Clairmont series a little steamier than my women's fiction novels. The intimacy between Mia and Flynn in Beautiful Disaster, as well as Aidan and Isabel in Perfect Timing is a facet of my writing that seems to resonate with readers. I was delighted to deliver even more in this regard. I hope you find as much enjoyment in reading the Clairmont series novels as I did writing them.
