Bill Schmalfeldt

Biography

Bill is an angry, liberal patriot. He sees what the conservatives want to do to his country and he doesn't like it. Not even a little bit.

After an extensive six month investigation, Bill's previous books are available on Amazon in Kindle and Paperback. Before this most recent offering, Bill wrote a real-life story called "Vice & Victory -- With the Emphasis on the Former." The title comes from an alleged criminal enterprise disguised as a political public relations entity called Vice & Victory. The book mostly focuses on a convicted debit card thief, a felon named Ali Akbar who inexplicably rose through the right wing ranks on the heels of working for one losing political campaign after another, until -- somehow, with no visible means of support or education -- he took over the right wing blogosphere. This is a true story about how "it's not who you know" that counts in politics.

And now, you can also read Bill's latest books of left wing satire.

Part of Bill's irritable nature may stem from the fact that he has Parkinson's disease. He has written books about that aspect of his life as well.

After 30 years as a broadcaster, writer, editor, columnist, the last six as a writer/editor with the federal government, Bill's Parkinson's forced him to take early retirement in 2011. He still blogs at Billschmalfeldt.com and he still writes for the sites mentioned above.

Smashwords Interview

When did you first start writing?
Well, I really sucked at penmanship in grade school. I got consistent "D's". Even my non-cursive was always deemed to be less than adequate. Thank goodness for the typewriter. And then the word processor. And now, the ever-lovin' iMac.

Oh... you mean "writing" writing, right?

Well, I've been a professional wordsmith since about 1977 and I published my first novel in 2004.
What's the story behind your latest book?
It's a true story about how a gang of right wing thugs took exception to a middle-aged guy with Parkinson's disease looking into their fundraising scams, so they learned that they could make his symptoms worse and hasten his imminent total disability and/or death by increasing his stress levels.
