I would like to thank all of those who have downloaded or passed on information about the books. This week we sent our first check to a school in our area for one hundred fifty dollars in relation to the second book in the series. Thank you so much and please keep passing on the books. The charities are good and we are so hoping that our message may inspire authors who are widely respected and published to consider doing something similar, even if it is only with a small percentage of their proceeds. Thank you again so much.
Writing for me was born out of the necessity for some peace and relief during a draining and guilt ridden time in my life. My three wonderful children and husband underwent the difficult ordeal of uprooting our lives to care for my parents who were each dying of cancer.
Drastically altering our lives to ensure that the wonderful people who cared for me during childhood and were giving and loving grandparents to their only grandchildren had their family living with them and caring for their daily needs during the three years of their waning lives when cancer ensured they could not take care of themselves, was both rewarding and heart wrenching. The guilt of drastically changing the lives of my children and impairing their freedom led to many a sleepless night and the birth of this novel.
Despite our trials, as we looked around us, we realized for everything we felt, it is nothing compared to parents who are dealing with young children who fight the deadly disease and the siblings who struggle with guilt as they enjoy pleasures that their brother and sister are sometimes unable to participate in because of their long hospital stays.
Grateful for the blessings that we have and aware of the trials and tribulations of so many families struggling when cancer strikes, this book is dedicated to them. I hope that in some small way it shows that even when times look bad, creative ways of dealing with it can sometimes emerge.
Hope your family is well and happy reading.
Please note that the first book has a note to the reader requesting that if they enjoyed the book that they consider donating what they would have paid for same to a local hospital that assists children who are suffering with cancer.
Also note that the second book is being priced, but that the net proceeds from same will donated by the author to a school in the author's area. Since the school has children under the age of majority, I am not listing same and asking for donations to be sent directly to them because I feel it would be inappropriate. Also for the libraries that download the book which I have now made free (sorry for the delay, I didn't realize the option) if there is somehow you could note that if the readers are pleased with the story to please donate to their own school, that would be wonderful. Thank you for your consideration in this matter.
