Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in a small town in Ontario, Canada. I read a lot as a child and can still remember how I felt when Bambi's mother was killed by hunters. In those days I also read a lot of Thornton W. Burgess books, which I enjoyed with their colorful characters. I love children's fantasy and have no trouble experiencing clear images in my mind which I use for my stories.
When did you first start writing?
I started writing in 2000 just to see if I could and my writing progressed from there.
A beautiful young fairy runs for her life from the deranged sorcerer who will stop at nothing to possess her magic. In desperation she seeks the help of a mysterious red dragon. But first, she must find a way to free him from his imprisonment by the mystical red stone.
Krikkit discovers treachery and intrigue when she is transported to the Kingdom of D'Arragon by the beautiful black leather shoes which have mysteriously found their way into her very ordinary life. With the aid of an ancient sorcerer or two, she attempts to prevent a long ago prophecy from becoming a horrible reality that would change the D'Arragon royal dynasty forever.
