Karen Whaley

I’m not sure exactly when I became a researcher but that’s what I consider myself today. I’m a mom, a parent just like you, but I have been trained to have a critical eye, examine everything to a fault, not be blinded by the obvious, and examine the outcomes. (It drives my husband insane!)

You see, I have been in the science and medicine field for 23 years. I received my Bachelor’s of Science from Cornell University and worked in Veterinary Medicine for 15 years. I followed my passion and I was good at what I did. I worked in a field that required fierce attention to detail and exceptional analytical skills. I loved it.

Then I followed my passion for elephants. Yes, elephants. I have a passion and love for these amazing and intelligent animals and I had the privilege to be able to train and care for them for four years. It was an experience that I will never forget and that I miss very much, but it couldn’t hold a candle to my son.

I had been researching health topics for years but when my son was born and I turned my research focus toward having a healthy baby I connected with a passion that just exploded. I have researched every day for the past five years about things that affect my child’s health and how to find the truth about protecting him.

It is my deepest hope that I help parents find even just one simple way to protect their baby’s health. There is nothing more important than a healthy baby and it is our job to do everything we can to protect our babies.

That is where my research focus will stay, and I pledge to continue to bring you honest, thorough, and easy to understand information that will help you make the best decisions for you and your children.
