Smashwords Interview

What do your fans mean to you?
Everything. They are who I write for. It is thrilling to think my words might give someone the same pleasure I have felt reading another authors work.
What's the story behind your first book, Gutter Treasure, Gutter Trash?
There was a period in my life when I didn't know where my next meal would come from. I could have called on relatives but it never occurred to me. It was my problem and up to me to find a solution. I lived in a neighborhood consisting of a lot of rental houses. Military families moved in and out almost every month and left anything you could think of on the street to be picked up as trash. I became one of the many who took some of that trash. I didn't pick through it like everyone else but shoved bags and boxes into the car to go through at my house. I also went up and down the streets before daylight to get to the trash piles first. I sold items in a flea market manner in the mornings and cleaned, priced, fixed, and whatever else it took to be ready for the next day. I fed myself, a dog and a cat that way until I lucked up on a good paying job.
