Luke lives in Tuscaloosa, Alabama now, but he was born and raised in Monroeville. Monroeville has long been regarded as the Literary Capital of the South boasting such greats of literature as Nell Harper Lee of To Kill a Mockingbird fame and Truman Capote of In Cold Blood fame and several other notable authors.
He took The Prodigy that he wrote some twenty years ago to pass the time out of the dusty bottom of the closet. Luke’s ninety five year old father, George T. Jones, has been his hero and inspiration his whole life, but none more than the past twenty one years. His father finally retired at seventy four, went back to college to learn what he could about writing, and has been a journalist for the local paper in Monroeville, Alabama now for twenty one years. He has also authored several books and he is now completing his memoirs about his time in the army with General George Patton during World War ll.
The Prodigy proves once again that Monroeville, Alabama is The Literary Capital of the South.
