Luke Hutchinson is a church youth and children's worker in Brighton, UK. Having recently finished two years a mission training college in the Netherlands and New Zealand, Luke has a heart for mission and having visited many countries, Luke desires to see change in the global church. On completing his research assignment for college, he has published this work into a bitesize ebook called Shaping the Church.
What's the story behind your latest book?
Shaping the Church is my research paper for my final year at bible college. BUT essentially it is my reflection on the condition of the church in Britain. I love the church and I am learning so much about what Jesus wants for His bride. I certainly do not have any answers - but from seeing how the personality of the church has changed over centuries and how it is expressed around the world... I thought I would share my thoughts.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
My greatest joy is hearing back from someone who has enjoyed what they have read. My aim for anything in life is to help change someone's life. If my small ebook can help just one person, then is has achieved its task.
Shaping the Church by reviewing its current context is a call for the church to look outside the four walls and observe the culture of today. By presenting the decline of the church and the common trends of British society, Luke discusses six suggestions for the shaping the personality of the church. Shaping the Church is Luke's effort to encourage all Christians to embrace a modern worldview.
