The basic basics:
I was born in San Francisco, raised in Marin County, and attended San Francisco State University, the Academy of Art College, and Dominican University. I majored in film and psychology, minoring in Philosophy and Anthropology, which gave me the diverse educational background to become a writer and director. I hold a fifth degree black belt in Kenpo Karate, am a certified expert with the pistol and rifle, and maintain excellent hair at all times. I live with my wife and a French Bulldog and Miniature Daschund on a yacht in Sausalito. When I'm not, writing, directing or teaching martial arts, you'll find me fighting injustice, cherishing a number two, working out, or riding my mountain bike through the scenic hills of Marin County.
The less basic basics:
In 2010, I was busy writing screenplays and directing music videos when I was struck down with stage four non Hodgkins Lymphoma, specifically Peripheral T Cell NOS. About one in five people survived this particularly deadly cancer, so in order to deal with the soul sucking stress inducing scenario, I read the Harry Potter series, finding it to be the perfect escape for a person in my dire position. Sadly, I reached the end of the series just before it was time to head south to Stanford University where I would begin the next stage of treatment. Desperate for the right book but not finding it, I sat down and decided to put my writing skills to good use by creating the ultimate cancer book. Five pages in, I realized there was no way in hell I was going to write about such a gloomy subject. Sitting in an isolated clean ward, and getting a barrage of emails from friends and family, all traveling, frolicking, and enjoying the lovely summer, I decided I needed to write the book that I desperately wanted to read. It would include all that I lacked at that moment -- namely, sex, alcohol, adventure, humor, and most importantly, a private uninterrupted number two. The Stanford nurses were obsessed with measuring all manner of waste that came from my body and I was obsessed with keeping it all to myself. Feeling like a veritable prisoner, living in a cave of isolation, I therefore created the Mantasy Genre -- Mantasy being a new breed of fiction born of the words Male and Fantasy. I then strung all the elements I lacked together, the result being the mental salvation that would carry me through treatment and beyond. With book six almost done and book seven in the planning stages, I am already three and a half years in remission, five being the final checkpoint. Let there be life, and in turn -- Mantasy.
