Dawn of the Valiant (The Valerious Chronicles: Book One) on Aug. 09, 2013

For the past year, I have been in a reading lull. I make it a rule to always finish a book, this year however, the aforesaid rule was jettisoned. I consistently found myself reading till the half way mark of a book and feeling I could not possibly waste my life reading the remainder. Then I came across "Dawn of the Valiant" and it whisked me out of my lull, good and proper. The author is Australian. I thought I would give it a go because, let's face it, everyone likes an Aussie. It has it all; engaging characters, enticing story line, battles, humour, magic. The dialogue is the strength in this novel, it's smooth, exciting, unlike many fantasy novels which are bogged down exposition- I flew through the pages in this book. If I could fault anything, a lot happens in this book. However, it certainly keeps you engaged. I breezed through the first half in a weekend and didn't look back!
