Mark David Craycraft

Biography

I am a school teacher, a husband, a father, and grandfather.
My experiences aren't much different than yours. With great joy and horrific tragedy, our lives are peppered with many stories to tell and lessons learned.
The gift that God has, for some reason, given to me is the gift of teaching. I am no better or more enlightened than most. Although, I do spend time exhausting over issues in our lives that we tend to overlook or under appreciate. My internal drive is to share, teach, and lift up. There is no higher purpose for me on this plane.

Smashwords Interview

Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in the small, southern village of Friendship, Ohio. It's on the banks of the Ohio River about 100 miles east of Cincinnati. The population of 700 people all know everyone and our ties are still close today. Many of us have moved away yet, always "come home" a few times each year.

This influences my writing style, tone, and subject matter. I want to have a conversation with the reader as if we were back home on the porch. The last thing I want to do is over reach or over talk my readers. It seems lofty and disingenuous, to me.
Describe your desk
Which one?
The one I show in pictures is clean and professional.
The one I'm sitting at now looks like a blend of the Starship Enterprise and an episode of Hoarders.
