This book was recommended to me as I spent many years in Western Australia and have an interest in Australian history. The author takes us through and amazing journey that accurately depicts the hard life in Australia back when the country was still finding its feet. I love the descriptive way David Haviland writes, he immerses you into actually being there and I found myself experiencing the sights, sounds and even smells of the journey and events that unfold. Anyone interested in Australian adventure history with twists, intrigue and mystery, then I highly recommend Shell Widows..I'm looking forward to more writings from this author.
