I was given this book by the author via goodreads group for an honest review. A Marked Past is a wonderful read! I love the storyline – The book starts with Lyla a teenager in high school, so excited to be part of the cheerleading squad and to tell her dad the good news of making the team, however she never gets to as he died that same day. Her mom is grief stricken and decides to move them to their family home in Salem, MA to start over. Lyla is in a new town, new school and has to make new friends, all while there are rumors about her family. She meets her uncle Nathan and her cousins Hana and Sage, and learns all about her family history including details about her ‘mark’. She no longer has a ‘normal’ teenage life like she had in Chicago. Soon, she learns someone is after her and wants her family dead. Who can she trust, is she strong enough to fight? This book has witches, magic, history, and even some romance. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

Vengeance of the Wolf is a story of a mass murderer who kills his victim's in their dreams... it touches on the paranormal realm and was an interesting story. The murderer has a plan and goes in a sequence with his murders. It was pretty creepy, describing the murders. The author does flashbacks of the murderer's childhood and ties it together at the end. I really enjoyed this book, it was intriguing! I kept reading because I wanted to know how it ends. The ending was good, however there were a few things that were not answered and I was hoping to learn more; Celeste and her family, and how she taught the killer to "dream kill". I was given this book by the author and the goodreads group Shut Up & Read for an honest review.

My parents were born in Hungary, and even though they were children when the Hungarian Revolution was going on, they have very vivid memories of their lives and what my grandparents were going through. My mom remembers the Russian tanks going through the city. It is mostly why my grandparents decided to move to America not much later. It was a difficult and scary time to say the least. The very real historical aspect of the storyline and descriptions were despairing, yet captivating. I enjoyed the love story too. I especially enjoyed the bits of Hungarian that were included in the dialogue. Great job! I hope she writes more novels!
