Matthew Scerri studied Italian language at the University of Malta, where he received his Ph.D. in 2011. The title of his doctoral thesis was L'elemento favolistico-fiabesco nella narrativa giovanile scritta da Italo Calvino. Scerri teaches Italian in an independent secondary school in Malta and is a Visiting Lecturer at the Department of Italian within the Faculty of Arts at the aforementioned university. In 2013, the translator published his second book Chi Cerca Trova: Cinquanta crucipuzzle per chi vuole apprendere il lessico italiano also with FARAXA Publishing. Il-Ħajja u l-Avventuri ta’ Santa Klaws is the translator's first book published by FARAXA.
