What is your writing process?
I come up with a general "What if..." scenario first. Sometimes ideas come in my dreams, sometimes when I'm walking, sometimes from the news, but always smacking me in the brain when I least expect it. Once I have the idea I spend hours just thinking it through; characters, places, situations, etc. I open a Notebook program file for each book and establish the characters, general synopsis, hero's journey and start to put together the chapters. Then I just write and write and write and then write some more. Then I edit about a million times then a few more times for good measure.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
The first full book I ever read was Charlie & The Chocolate Factory. I LOVED that book! It was the first time I actually read a book on my own and I said to myself, "This is what I want to do."
