From the unique opening word to the joyride of an ending, Drawn is a refreshing addition to the increasingly predictable YA market. The story is fresh, real, and forges a different path than most when dabbling in the spiritual realm. Main characters, Juliet and Damon, and their preciously dramatic relationship are so convincing that I've already cast them (in my mind) for the major motion picture release! With her eye for detail, her realistic perspective and consistently infused humor, Mrs. Keffler makes writing a coming-of-age romance fraught with dysfunction, puberty, and a twist of spirituality seem effortless. And if that isn't enough, all the fun and embarrassing 80s references will completely DRAW you in. The only question I was left with at the end was, "Where was Damon when I was in junior high?" Sequel, please!

Another fascinating installment of Damon and Julie's developing relationship. I'm not sure how this adult author can be so in tune with the teenage mind, but it's on point again in Deo Volente. From the growing attraction to the disappointment with family dynamics to the awkward and sometimes heart-breaking friendships, Deo Volente tackles it all! And with the unique twist of Julie's "gift" woven throughout, it was an original story worth my time. Thanks, Ms. Keffler. Can't wait for the third installment!
