Melissa J. Urrea, MD is a native Texan. She received her medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. While completing residency training in medicine, Dr. Urrea was inspired to write Thin Yellow Line. Dr. Urrea currently lives in Austin, Texas with her loving family. She continues to write fiction novels and practice the art and science of medicine
