Melody Scott

Melody Scott was born in San Diego, California. After her degree from California Polytechnic College in Pomona, California, she was hired by the Press Enterprise newspapers in Riverside, California.

One husband, two children and several animals later, she moved to Georgia, fell in love with the land, and attended what is now North Georgia College and State University in Gainesville, GA to obtain her real estate license to sell property.

Meanwhile she wrote human interest short stories, published in various magazines and newspapers, and began her Maria Sebastian mystery/thriller series having to do with hypothetical situations using historical facts of north Georgia.

Her first novel, Auraria Dead, was published by Wolfmont Press in 2011, and was accepted by the Atlanta Prose Stage to be read at the Decatur Book Festival in 2011, as well as The Dahlonega Book Fair, sponsored by North Georgia College and State University, 2011.

She has written two other real estate thrillers in the Maria Sebastian series, Chattahoochee Dead and Silver Strutter Dead. All three books are available on Amazon.

Today she lives in the original gold country of North Georgia with her husband of forever and her little dog. She is still a licensed real estate agent and belongs to the local Board of Realtors, the Chamber of Commerce, two writing groups, a book club, Sisters In Crime, and Southeastern Mystery Writers of America. She also participates in the Dawson County Arts Council as much as possible.

She writes on the landing of the upstairs in her home and relaxes by reading mysteries and painting. She enjoys meeting with local book clubs, and is available for signings. For more information about Melody and her books, please visit her website -
