  • Fabulous in Tights on March 01, 2021

When I began to read Fabulous in Tights, I realized I was in for something different. Hal Bodner has written a superhero story from the superhero’s point of view. That is a unique way to write a superhero story because we’re not often treated to the view from the hero’s perspective - what he thinks of the people he has to save as well as what’s on his shopping list or that he might have a fetish for spandex. This is a recipe for too much fun which Bodner delivers in natural engaging prose that can have you forgetting that superheroes unfortunately don’t exist, particularly ones as fabulous as Alec Archer AKA Whirlpool. But all is not fun and games Bodner delivers enough action and suspense to keep readers hanging on to the very last page and then wanting more. If you’re looking for a unique reading experience my advice is to grab a copy of Fabulous in Tights where the superhero is not always nice, or well organized, but well dressed, where the victims are not always sympathetic but the laughs are abundant and good mostly triumphs over evil in Hal Bodner’s sensational creation.
