Pàdruig MacIlleChiar lives and works in Harris within sight of where his ancestors lived and worked a quarter of a millennium ago.

He is a member of the Uist Writer's Group at Taigh Chearsabhagh Museum and Arts Centre in Lochmaddy, North Uist, where he also coordinated and presented a monthly live music event, Taigh Ciùil.

His first book, published simultaneously in the Gàidhlig (Scottish Gaelic) translation available here and in a printed edition in the original English, has had more than nine hundred downloads.
