Biography
Hello, My name is Mike Morford. Second to my family, true crime is my life, my passion. After 25 years in a tiring and stressful career in the sales industry, I needed a change. In mid-2017, with the much appreciated support from my Wife, I dove head first into a brand new career, something that had previously been a hobby taking up much of my spare time- a true crime consultant. I use the word consultant to encompass many different endeavors and projects.
I have consulted or advised on true crime television projects, blogged about cold cases on my website TrueCrimeGuy.com, appeared alongside victims and survivors of a notorious serial killer to help advocate for his identification, and co-host the true crime podcast Criminology.
I have extensively researched the Zodiac Killer case, and in addition to co-hosting Criminology, I have appeared on several podcasts including Generation Why, and Crawlspace to discuss the case.
For years, so many people have asked me, "How come you don't write a Zodiac book, everybody else has". I never really have considered myself a writer, and didn't think I'd have the patience and commitment to complete a book. It wasn't until I wrote 12 episodes of season 1 of Criminology (about the Zodiac Killer) that I looked back and realized- that this was enough material to fill a book. Then a thought came to me; how interesting and original would it be to adapt our deep coverage of the Zodiac case to a book? It would potentially bring the case, and our podcast to a whole new audience.
I've been fortunate enough to forge many friendships and relationships over the years with members of law enforcement, victims and survivors of crime, and people involved within the true crime community. These connections have provided me with more access to the inner workings of the cases that I cover, and to the people directly involved in the cases; whether that be an investigator, or a victim or survivor.
Armed with the tools and connections that I've made over the last decade, my plan is to continue to dig into the never-ending mysteries and cases that come my way, and help bring them to a new audience because somebody out there somewhere may hold the last piece of the puzzle that breaks these cases wide open. Maybe it's you.
