Michelle Ploog is a humanitarian, media personality, writer, fitness expert and leader in transforming our world for equality, compassion, human reverence and happiness.
She is the author of Collecting Health and Happiness and Belly Blast Bootcamp ebooks, with her third book to be released in spring 2015. She inspires people through her weekly motivational web series Straight from the Heart’, her monthly column in Edge Magazine and is a frequent contributor to many other publications. She is creator and co-writer of the Soul Connection Adventure television series, currently in production.
She has interviewed a wide range of inspiring people including Katie Spotz, the youngest person to solo row across the Atlantic Ocean; Senator Scott Dibble, the man who lead the Marriage Equality bill in Minnesota; and Vednita Carter, the Founder of Breaking Free, an anti sex-trafficking non-profit organization.
Michelle’s media work has been deeply inspired by yoga and meditation. A former studio owner and director, she is a certified and experienced yoga teacher and leader. Over the last decade, she has lead workshops and teacher trainings, and taught to a wide range of students from Taylor Swift and to players for the Carolina Hurricane Hockey team to children’s hospitals, people overcoming addiction and the homeless.
As an former ACE certified personal trainer with additional certifications in Zumba, pilates and water aerobics, she has taken her background in fitness and yoga to develop her online web program, Belly Blast Bootcamp, Belly Blast Bootcamp for Golfers and the Yoga for a Better Golf Game DVD.
Michelle has utilized her media savvy and ability to connect people beyond their differences to create the annual Beyond Belief Walk for Peace at Mall of America, bringing together people of all religious backgrounds. She has volunteered with Love for Peru Foundation, Africa Yoga Project, Humane Society, United Nations International Day of Peace and is the is the creator and facilitator of the Holistic Health and Wellness Program for the nonprofit Breaking Free.
Michelle believes that media has a tremendous power that can be used for the good of humanity and has made it her mission to use the power of media to create a narrative for a more loving, joyous, and empathetic world.
