  • Fated Dreams (Book One In The Affinity Series) on Sep. 06, 2013

I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review At first glance I thought the book showed promise as it isn't the type of book I normally read as it didn't really have any themes of fantasy or paranormal which I loved to read as it takes you out of reality and into a different world authors have created but I truly loved it and thought it was an enjoyable read about soul mates. I think the book was well written and was an easy read as I giggled, sighed and laughed all through the book, it kept me full of suspense as I wanted to find out what's happens with soul mates Sarah and Lucas and who it was that was haunting their dreams and breaking their chance at happiness. Sarah is your typical next door type of girl. She starts having dreams about herself, a boy and a murder that takes place. Her two best friends are very likeable characters and care for Sarah deeply and always wants to know the gossip that goes on when she starts dating mystery, anti-social boy Lucas Tate the guy she runs into in the hallway after running late for school one morning and accidentally picks up one of his books and returns it to him. At first she thought she was dreaming about Logan Tate (Lucas identical twin brother), the guy that every girl dreams about but realises that she was actually dreaming about Lucas. As their relationship grows over the course of time he eventually tells her that he's been having dreams which are the same dreams as her but she reluctant in telling him she was having the same ones at the time but eventually comes clean to him about everything resulting in him coming quiet protective of her. As the book progress answers are revealed about their dreams, incidents happens and the suspense of whom the person is, is revealed (it kept me guessing who it was down to the end).

I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review This book is the second book in the affinity series after fated dreams. So after reading the first book and liked the different pace from the other books that I have read lately I went straight into reading the second. And I must say I loved it more than the first well thats my opinion anyway. It was another brilliantly written book where it had me hanging on and guessing who it was. This book like the first had me giggling, and laughing all throughout the book. This book was about a high school senior Lisa Miller; who struggles to come to terms about the dreams she is having and her mixed emotions about Logan Tate. It all started out with Lisa getting her heartbroken by Logan 2 years ago one night at a party and from there planned her revenge on Logan, to make him feel just the way she felt. She has an internal struggle with her feelings as Logan tries to prove to her that he wasn't the same guy as he was a year ago but she doesn't believe him. But as she spends more time with him and gets to know him better she can see that he isn't the same guy and she starts to fall for him. She starts getting creepy emails and phone calls from someone and gets quiet scared and in hind sight thinks its Logan up to his old tricks. In the end truths are revealed from both parties and relationships are put to the test. Overall it is really enjoyable read and enjoyed the addition of characters but also having some of the same characters from the first books. I was happy that we get to see the story of Logan and his soul mate. I think both of these books can be read as stand alone but she has done a brilliant job in relating some themes from the first book quiet well into this book. well done :D
