My Man Godric

I love many R. Cooper books, but this one was a struggle for me. It feels like a very early effort, which is does appear to be having a 2012 year of release when I've mostly read their new books. The talent that I admire now, is in this book, but there's not a clear focus or flow to some elements of the story. It's ultimately just ok to me.

The taboo is well represented here and I did like the scene, but it’s just too short for me. It makes some effort to be more than just a hot hookup, but that effort just makes me want more of an actual story for Ethan and Sean.

The drawing in this says it all and kills me! Bacon wrapped....OMG, no Sean! I laughed so hard just at that crayon preview of this scene.
This is so funny and dirty and the things done to meat are criminal. There isn't a lot of plot or progress in their relationship here, but Sean and Ethan are very cute in this.
A Tricky Situation

A good, but too short read. It seems a waste to start developing such good characters in Edmund and Kit and the relationship between them without giving them a fuller story. I knew it was a short story when I bought and read it and it's well done in the bit it tells, but it just begs for more.

This has heat and humor, but I just didn't love it. I don't mind the cliffhanger. My problem is that the scene is too brief to stand on its own. It should have been a freebie or bonus scene or just write it all out without the cliffhanger to make it more of an installment worth charging for. Yes, I saw the very low word count before buying and it's not ridiculously priced so I knew what I was getting and didn't mind paying for it, but at this point in the series I just want more development of a story despite the series being geared more toward erotica than story. If you're going to tease at plot then commit to it and give us all the funny, hot, sexy bits along with a romantic journey into all things Sean and Ethan.
