Biography

M J Bromley is an education journalist and author with over eighteen years’ experience in teaching and leadership. He also works as a consultant, speaker, and trainer.

He is the author of numerous best-selling books for teachers – published by Autus Books – including ‘How to Become a School Leader’, ‘Leadership for Learning’, ‘Ofsted Thriving Not Surviving’, ‘The IQ Myth’, and ‘Teach’. He also edited ‘SPaG Book’ and ‘Outstanding Literacy’.

‘Teach 2: Educated Risks' was published in the summer of 2016 to much acclaim and his latest book, the eagerly-anticipated 'Making Key Stage 3 Count', is out now in paperback and ebook.

He writes for various newspapers and magazines including The Times Educational Supplement, The Guardian, Headteacher Update, and School Inspection + Improvement Magazine. He has a monthly centre-fold column in SecEd Magazine which is distributed to every secondary school in the UK.

His education blog has been voted one of the UK’s most influential and receives over 50,000 visitors a year.

He lives in Yorkshire with his wife and three children.
