Bernie Wooder

Biography

Bernie Wooder was born 6 August 1940 in London’s East End.

He is a fully trained and UKCP accredited psychotherapist and counselor with 20 years’ experience.

He has his own private practice and is qualified in Core Process Psychotherapy having had a practice in London’s Harley Street.

A film buff from childhood, Bernie Wooder has pioneered the use of movies as an aspect of the therapeutic process for twenty years.

His commissioned work has included consultancy projects on movie therapy for MGM Studios and Warner Brothers. He lectures on the subject to student therapists
at Guys Teaching Hospital in London and to media students at Leeds Trinity University.

As a member of the UK Council of Psychotherapists he is a regular contributor to TV, radio and the press.

He has appeared on the BBC’s ‘Here and Now’ and ‘Arena’ programmes, Channel 4 and 5 News and Richard and Judy’s ‘Good Morning’ programme on ITV as well as their Channel 4 programme.

On radio, he has promoted the use of movies as a therapeutic tool.

He has been interviewed by Professor Anthony Clare on his ‘All in the Mind’
programme, as well as featuring on ‘Steve Wright in the Afternoon,’ ‘The
Lowri Turner Show’ and LBC at Midnight.

Bernie lives with his wife Joy, daughter Claire and son Jamie in Boreham Wood, Hertfordshire (appropriately enough on the doorstep of Elstree Film and Television Studios).
