Biography
Manfred Paul Hedley is an English novelist, whose debut novel for young adults (The Lost Story: The Scroll of Remembrance) was published as a paperback in 2010 and then as an e-book in 2011.
M. P. Hedley was raised in North London and traces his love of writing back to his childhood, when he would create picture books about his favourite characters from books and television. But his journey into being an author for a career really began at university, where as part of his degree he took a module in writing for children. This kick started a long journey of learning to be a writer, until in 2004 he had the idea for The Lost Story, while out hiking with a friend. As with all such clichés, the idea “simply emerged nearly fully-formed out of nowhere.” However, ideas still need developing and it took nearly six years before the first instalment, The Scroll of Remembrance, was ready. The much anticipated second book in the series - the title of which remains a closely guarded secret - is due for release in December 2011.
