What's the story behind your latest book?
My book, Escape the Matrix and Explore Reality is really the story of a lifetime. By that I mean that like most people, I was brainwashed and indoctrinated by culture, parents, school, religion, television, etc. to believe a great many things. But many of those things turned out not to be true. They created something like an artificial story about what people are and what life, society, and the world is about. Beginning when I was pretty young I challenged and questions all these answers I had been given. I spent my entire life questioning and trying to discover what I really am and what life is really about. I just wasn't buying into what everyone else seemed to be swallowing without questioning, challenging, and critically thinking about. I somehow felt and knew it was something like a con job or grand deception, but I needed to find out how, why, and the alternative to the collective and rather limited and deluded view.
This drive to find out what is really going on and what is really true led me down many paths and experiences in life. Some of these led to me taking on more beliefs that also turned out to be false, which I would then dismiss as I would discover some truth that belied them. As this continued to repeat, I discovered that beliefs and believing itself was a big part of what creates the whole mess, con job, or illusions and delusions.
In time and with experience I learned ways to winnow out and determine what is true, what's real, and was able to basically deprogram and undo the brainwashing that I, and everyone, went through. This really freed and opened my mind. It totally changed how I think. It changed the very processes of my mind: how I deal with any incoming information. Free of the programming and false beliefs, I was able to think for myself, to think clearly, and to see things much more as they actually are, instead of how "they" want us to see them and interpret them.
Many of my life experiences gave me firsthand knowledge of how so much of the common worldview was very limited and excluded vast portions of reality. These expanded my perceptual scope--they allowed me to actually perceive and experience things that are normally excluded from view due to the limited beliefs and brainwashing we get via cultural programming and conditioning.
So, basically I'd freed my own mind from the Matrix, or the internal virtual reality that aligns to the consensus reality we are brainwashed into. Along with this, I shed my "false self", or what I call the Matrix Avatar. So I ended up being able to actually perceive reality itself and my true self. This happens in stages, but by time I'd made a ton of progress, It was so incredible, magnificent, and empowering that I felt this overwhelming desire to help others achieve the same. Therefore, I set out to write this book so that others could free their minds, escape the Matrix, explore reality, and become transformed and empowered by so doing. Imagine if you were imprisoned in a cell for your entire life and had finally escaped because you had found the key. What would you do next? Well, I decided I would make a ton of copies of the key (books) and distribute them so that others could use them to free themselves from their own prison cells--the internal virtual reality Matrix.
So I guess you could say a lifelong process of mine led to freedom from the Matrix and that is the story of my book. The book itself is my gift or service back to humanity so that hopefully they can use it to do the same.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
If in the past fifty years on this planet I'd learned something that could be of any value to others, then I want to share it with others. Writing is a wonderful and powerful medium to do just that.
