M. Rice is a long time writer and day dreamer. A former single parent and former military wife; though not at the same time; she has overcome life's obstacles with a inner strength and dry sense of humor that is reflected in her writing.
She currently resides with her husband and two cats in Tacoma, WA. In her spare time she rescues homeless or abandoned dragons and works as a para educator.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
The alarm clock? Actually it's many things.. the need for a cup of coffee, two cats demanding food and the hope that the day won't be boring. During the school year it's the need to get up and get ready to go earn a real paycheck and excitement of a new day to instill a love of learning in high school kids.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Sadly I do. It would have been an early history of the Soul of Evil. I had big dreams, big hopes. It was a labor of love. I'd spent months and months working on it and trying to bring myself to the point of being ready to send it off to publishers. I needed to store some of my things for a time and the printed manuscript was in those things. The storage unit they were in... well, a former friend didn't pay the bill on it and it all was sold at auction, manuscript included. I cried for a week. After that I didn't finish any story I started until I finished Soul of Evil.
If there were stories before that one, I don't remember them.
