Marvin Ross

Biography

A medical writer/journalist and now publisher living in Hamilton (Dundas), Ontario, Canada. He is the author of eleven books - four are on health topics for the lay public. Including Schizophrenia: Medicine's Mystery, Society's Shame, they are: The Silent Epidemic: A Comprehensive Guide to Alzheimer's Disease, Eyes which was endorsed by both the Canadian Medical Association and the Canadian Association of Optometrists and Pig Pills Inc: The Anatomy of an Academic and Alternative Health Fraud.

His writings have appeared in numerous medical and lay publications and websites. He wrote a regular column for Schizophrenia Digest and writes for the website schizophrenia dot com. As a journalist, he has attended and written about both the Canadian Psychiatric Association and the American Psychiatric Association annual conferences.

Marvin is past president of the Hamilton chapter of the Schizophrenia Society of Ontario and was on the Ontario board. He was also on the executive of the Hamilton Program for Schizophrenia Family Association and the steering committee for the Hamilton Talking About Mental Illness Program. He is presently involved with the Coalition for Appropriate Care and Treatment in Ontario.
