Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
As a small child, I had this one book titled Sung Under The Silver Umbrella, it was part of a series of the Umbrella books. The book had sing-a-longs, rhythm and rhymes and children's poetry. Some included The owl and the Pussy Cat, The Mitten song, A Psalm of David (after that I wanted my own bible). Mother would help me read the book and sing the songs. From there I wanted to read more books. Mother bought me a collection of books, I cannot remember the name but the books were red and white numbered from one to twenty-two. Number ten was my favorite book, it had short stories and nursery rhymes. I always wondered what happened to that collection. Now, I am an avid reader and I love it.
What do you read for pleasure?
I love reading, it relaxes me and it can be stimulating at times. I get very involved with my reading it's as if I picture the characters being right where I am. There is no one genre book that I read, I read them all. It's amazing some of the imaginations writers and authors have. Romance, short stories, children's stories, erotica, fiction, non-fiction, spiritual, you name it I will read it. No one book is the same. I just don't base what book I will read by its cover, sometimes the title catches me. I have read so far all of James Patterson's Women's Murder Club editions, I just could not put the books down.
