Smashwords Interview

What's the story behind your latest book?
The idea for writing The Samson Code was prompted from the works of catastrophic author, Anthony E. Larson. I read much of the source material for his trilogy; And the Moon Shall Turn to Blood, The Earth Shall Reel To and Fro, And There Shall Be a New Heaven and New Earth. I became fascinated with the theories of Dr. Immanuel Velikovsky as well as with the attempts of scientific officialdom to place catastrophic events into long drawn-out, evolutionary timetables. Giorgio De Santillana pointed out the many parallels of the Samson story to world mythology and astronomy. I realized that the Samson story could well be proof of ancient attempts to record abrupt, catastrophic changes to our world and could further bolster the research of Velikovsky.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
Thanks to rapid advancements with the internet I was able to find such websites as Smashwords which offer extreme freedom of expression at minimum cost. Vanity publishers and other places on the web may demand up to $1000 startup fees with much less
freedom and no guarantee of success. Right now I just want to get exposure. I have very little investment money for experimentation with other publishers.

The Samson Code is an investigation of the Biblical story in comparison to many parallel tales throughout world mythology. It is deduced that it is a story derived from the motions of the planets through various constellations. These cosmic events were not ordinary but caused much destruction and wrought fear within the hearts of ancient man. Similar events are forecast for our future.
