Marion F. Morrison was born in the Isle of Barra and raised in Glasgow, Scotland. She earned an MA and an MLitt at Glasgow University and was a teacher in Glasgow; Daliburgh, South Uist; and Benbecula. In 2017 she won a Gaelic New Writers Award from the Scottish Book Trust and Gaelic Books Council. Adhbhar Ar Sòlais / Cause of Our Joy won second place in the Donald Meek Award in 2018.
