N. J. Simmons

N. J. was born and raised in Kinston, NC. He’s a self-described “engineer by profession, but writer and creator by passion.”

When he’s not writing, N. J. is doing one, or a combination of the following:
Binge reading anything that he can get his hands on, digesting YouTube videos, watching movies (and picking out ALL of the inevitable hidden messages...ALL of them), taking random road trips, working out, spending time with friends and family, or listening to songs and music genres that may or may not shock you. :)

THE YAHWEH GENE is N. J.’s debut novel.

Smashwords Interview

Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I was born and raised in Kinston, NC. I guess because of certain challenges (mostly internal, such as self-esteem, confidence, and fear), I quickly developed a creative imagination in order to cope.
When did you first start writing?
I'm sure that I was in elementary school. Sixth grade was a turning-point though; it's when I was first exposed to Poe's "The Raven."

THE YAHWEH GENE is the first book in a series about the world as it will be in the not-so-distant future. After the planet has been ravaged by catastrophe, nineteen-year-old Emmanuel "Manny" Kohen is caught in this whirlwind of distress, limitation, and belief in an "assumed" Creator. Significant, undeniable, and personal events lead him to the thresholds of his belief, his sanity…and his life.
