When did you first start writing?
I started writing short stories (and illustrating them) when I was only eleven years old. I loved the feeling I achieved when I wrote something down on paper and finished it. To this day, I do a lot of my writing on paper first and then take time to convert it to the computer, which is one of my editing processes.
What's the story behind your latest book?
These Walls is something I started writing a loooong time ago. It's about love, life, learning to trust, growth and, of course, romance. The story line is something like this: girl likes boy, boy likes girl, boy and girl are best friends and girl is scared to lose their friendship by taking things to the next level. Boy is in a band, who hits the big time. Boy and girl lose their friendship over the course of life. Girl and boy are unexpectedly reunite years later. Boy and girl discover they still have feelings toward one another. Factor in some celebrity issues, gossip, rumors, major trust problems, lack of communication, other barriers and walls that are huge obstacles and the reader will find themselves engrossed in a roller coaster ride of never-ending twists and turns. This is an ADULT novel and is not recommended for readers under the age of 18.
I based the title of the novel from a song by my favorite band. It definitely hits the meaning behind my book and what can I say - they inspire me :)
My first novel, Unfamiliar Faces, is based on a story I started to write in my teenage years, which originally was written as fanfiction for a band. I changed a lot of it so that it was updated and current. I really liked the plot line of the story and wanted to finally give it a closing after I started it so many years ago. It's about teenage love, heartbreak, and friendship, something to which everyone can relate.
