George Opacic is a past president of the Federation of BC Writers and an Honorary Life Member.
In 2015, he started Rutherford Press to enable west coast writers, who are unable to use the new online publishing technologies, to have their books published and distributed. There are currently over a dozen fascinating titles published with more in final editing.
George has presented a series of workshops across the province. The topics are primarily targeted to writers who wish to increase their professionalism: Copyright; Identity Theft; Taxing Writers; Interviewing and Writing; ePublishing; Writers Blank; plus a series of seven workshops on Small Business Operations.
Notes To Mother is a series of in-your-face tales from behind the scenes of recent history. Ride in a stagecoach in the driver's box; guide and take pictures of Teddy Roosevelt in the wilds of Yellowstone Park; covertly gather info on the abandoned military hardware left over in the Pacific after WW2, for MacArthur's Korean battle; speak with Dr. Porsche about starting the first US VW franchise.
