I loved this book so much. It's so beautiful, at times really poetic, and the characters are so compelling. It made me miss Scotland a lot and it's definitely gonna go on my rereading collection. What. A. Gem.

I really liked this book, it was very sweet! It was an interesting portrayal of navigating your sexuality and sex around all sorts of things that happen to a lot of people but aren't that commonly present in romance fiction - such as chronic illness and exploring same-gender sex "later" in your life. And the cats were a total bonus that made me very happy.

This is a hurt/comfort story with enough balance between the two, imho. It does what it says in the tin - altho you may wanna skip this one if mentions if you don't wanna read something with physical pain and scars in it, aside from checking out the book's content warnings. That said, I liked it. I enjoyed the world building and the characters a lot. They're both very compelling (even if we do spend a lot more time with Garvin than anyone else), and the plot was thrilling enough to keep me at the edge of my seat without dragging the angst for too long. Their relationship was very sweet and I was rooting for them the entire time. I'd love to read more of them tbh - their world is intriguing! The gods and goddesses too. It had many moments that made me smile, and there's lot of tenderness and care between the characters despite how brutal the rest of the world was at times.
