What do you do at present?
I work in a computer store in California. I enjoy it and luckily the store has remained in business still. I'm a techy person.
However, I'm not your average store worker. People who work in stores don't normally write books on encryption. I have a natural flare for mathematics, greater than most people, although I'm not a mathematician. I didn't want to be a computer programmer or a web designer, however.
How did you get the idea for the book's cover?
I just did the first thing that came into my head, same as everyone else. I've never designed book covers before or anything like that and I didn't have time to try out hundreds of different designs, so for the people who don't like it tough. It also looks horrible seen as a very small image and it's not designed for viewing in grayscale. The picture really makes use of every pixel of the 2560 pixel height. A pixel height of 2400 would not have been good enough. With an even bigger pixel height the picture would have incorporated even more spokes and would have looked incredible.
I do wonder what people will think of it. In my mind I did imagine someone who looked at it for the first time asking their trusted partner to verify that the colors were in the true order.
I did create a version of the cover with three bars in a line but in the end decided against using it.
