Being a Pastor is more than a career choice for me; it is a calling burning deep inside. It drives me to stay creative and relevant in communicating the life changing message of Jesus Christ in an ever changing culture that needs to see, hear and feel the love of God.
In February of 2006, the Lord called my wife and I to start a church. This was definitely one of those, I Hear You God..But HOW moments in my life. I had so many excuses in my mind as to whether or not we could actually do it, but we yielded to God's will. This process has caused me to grow in ways I never knew I could grow. God has shown Himself to me in so many real and relevant ways, that I can't help but teach and write about those experiences.
My prayer is that any lessons that I learn or am learning, can be shared with others. I only want people to find the richness of a true walk with God, as we follow Christ. The world offers us so many roads, but Jesus Himself told us clearly that the road is narrow. This narrow road has so much freedom if we will only embrace it!
I say to myself and to all of you what Paul the Apostle said in Philippians 3:12-14,
Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
I am becoming and so are you. The question is, are you becoming more like Christ, more like the person that you think you should be, or maybe you are becoming the person that you never wanted to be? Today is a new day so take advantage of it.Choose to become all that God intends for you to be and all that Jesus Christ came to ensure that you would be.
I'll see you on the journey!
