After twenty years of health & business writing, including authoring or co-authoring 11 books and numerous articles, Patricia J. Parsons took her first bold step into creative non-fiction with the publication in 2009 of her memoir Another ‘Pointe’ of View: The Life and Times of a Ballet Mom (Dreamcatcher Publishing), a book that chronicled her unexpected life as the mother of an elite ballet dancer – all the more surprising in a hockey-mad country like Canada, since that dancer is her son.
Following up on that experience, she took her considerable research skills to her second passion: historical fiction and women’s fiction. She is the author of the novels Grace Note: In Hildegard’s Shadow and In the Shadow of the Raven.
By day, she is a Professor of Communication Studies at a small, east coast university.
Who Will Read Your Book? is a tough-love reality check on the vagaries of the new publishing models for aspiring writers while at the same time providing a road map based on the author’s own experience as a writer, writing teacher, traditionally-published author and indie author.
