Patty Shelby

Biography

The qualifications I bring to this teaching task are varied. Having lived with anger issues in my own family, I learned early on that answers were available if we seek them.

After substitute teaching for fifteen years, much insight was gained as to issues families, students and teachers face.

Mediation training and two years experience in this field brought knowledge of the difficulties one faces when entering the justice system. Teaching Adult Anger Control for thirteen years has put me on the front lines, and I see the difficulties clients face when they must look to themselves to turn their lives around. Through this curriculum, I have been able to see lives changed, insight gained, and hope given that corrections regarding these issues are truly attainable.
I believe these years of experience cannot be matched.

In 1998, I was awarded the Heart Award by the Community Justice Center in Anderson Indiana. In 1999, I was awarded the Val B. Clear Award for having exemplified the spirit of Community Corrections in Madison County, Indiana.
