Since my early teens I’ve been a wanderer, fortunate to have lived in three continents and experienced what plurality, humanism and tolerance are all about. A career in multinational management revealed further cultures and customs, and also the follies and foibles of men. But life is all too fickle, and there are days when I live in fear - a fear of regression, of forgetting the errors of the past and the achievements that mankind as a whole has reached.
When such fears assail me, I like to hide under a book cover and exorcise those demons by reading of the heroics of past ages and how we have survived as a civilization. It helps. It helps a lot!
And as soon as they’re gone, I like to write. To write fiction, historical fiction, struggling to portray in ancient settings what has always been present in our nature — the qualities, the virtues, the morals, the hope, but also the weaknesses and the sins. It’s these make us all too human.
The story of the “Seculary of a Wandering Jew” is a portrait of the mutating nature of ourselves over time, inspired by faith and fate, or the lack of it. Research and imagination into words create such worlds, my own haven for these changing times.
