Joseph MacDougall

Joseph was born in 1933 in Philadelphia, PA. His family had strong ties to Shamokin in the coal region of Pennsylvania where he spent much time as a boy. It is from here and the bars and streets of Philadelphia where many of his writings draw their inspiration. He spent most of his career in engineering but graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1966 with a degree in English literature, his true passion.
The father of three children, he is now retired and lives with his wife of 57 years, Barbara Joyce, in South Carolina, near his daughter and family where he spends his time writing.

A new collection of short stories by Joe MacDougall brings the underside of Philadelphia to life through rich and raunchy dialogue and creates a canvas full of characters that become three dimensional and exciting all of the senses. Each story is a different take on what it means to be a Philadelphian: tough, with that in-your-face attitude served up with a cheese steak and beer.
