As a Christian, I am sensitive about knowing how difficult it is to draw the fine line between humor and irreverance, but this book does it, and it is great the whole time it does. Very funny, and unlike other fictional books about Jesus, like "Lamb," there's a lot of actual Christianity in it. The silbing rivalry between Eddie and Jesus--Eddie accepting Jesus as his brother--is a wonderful metaphor, on all levels, for accepting Christianity. I predict it will be a favorite teaching tool for persons interested in a real world take on Christianity. Well researched, it also offers a clear look at life under Roman occupation and the absurdities of the age. An excellent read.
