“Sliding Home” is my first novel. My characters have taken up residence in several computers over more years than I’d like to admit. They have patiently waited for me to give them the TLC they so greatly deserve. After three attempts, I have finally succeeded in breathing life into a story I believe is heartwarming and humorous. I certainly hope you feel the same.
I have spent much time dreaming of writing, though not a wealth of time actually doing it, with the exception of the past year. Beginnings to stories often came to me, but were systematically abandoned long before a middle or an ending stood a chance of being created. I was under the false assumption writing comes easily to those with ability. Since it never came easily to me, I surmised it wasn’t meant to be. I’ve since learned hard work and perseverance are a prerequisite for anything anyone may want to achieve. I’ve also learned from successful authors that writing isn’t easy, not even for those who have proven themselves.
My plans are to continue with a “Sliding Home” book series while also working on other unrelated projects. Unfortunately, I am not a speed writer. I can’t possibly keep up with the story ideas that come to me. As I jot down an idea here and there, my goal is to never run out of interesting tales to tell. Hopefully with more experience, I will acquire more speed allowing me to finish a book in months rather than years. A girl can dream … and work hard … and persevere.
