Smashwords Interview

What motivated you to become an author?
Honestly? It's the best way to empty out my head! I have an overly creative mind, and it's gotta go somewhere, right? (laughs) But, really, with regard to my non-fiction books, I remember listening to someone's speech, lecture, etc., leaving the room excited and inspired. My heart was full, but my head could only recall about 30% of the information -- which percentage slowly shrunk over time. I speak to so many people, and I want those people to not only leave with full hearts, but also leave them a way to help retain the stories, lessons, and principles, they learned. It's also a way share with a much larger audience.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Writing, to me, is like a puzzle. I have a jumble of pieces in my head, which must be assembled onto paper in a way that creates a beautiful picture -- that makes sense. The greatest joy for me when people I've never met leave a comment, or write to me, telling me how much that picture meant to them. <3
