  • Mud and Gold (Promises to Keep: Book 2) on Jan. 29, 2011

I could not put this book down. Normally I am more a dark horror reader but I really loved this book. After reading the first in the series I had to read the next.
  • Settling the Account (Promises to Keep: Book 3) on Jan. 29, 2011

    Another excellent book.
  • A Second Chance on Jan. 29, 2011

I have read every book in this series and could not put any of them down. I was so enchanted with the whole series I was actually disappointed when I found this to be the last one. All the characters are well written and engaging which drew me into the story more and more. The indepth look into their lives, loves. worries and joy are outstanding.
  • Glamour (Rae Wilder #1) on Jan. 29, 2011

At first I was unsure because Iam very picky about the fiction that I read and I am not a sci-fi kind of person. But this book pulled me in and I enjoyed the storyline and characters. I hope there will be more to come.

This is my first experience with Lawson's writing and I can say I was pleasantly surprised. Romance stories are a little hard for me to follow especially when they are overly flowery and this is not one of those books. There are elements of drama to this book which is not anything that couldn't actually happen, though I don't know to many blue bloods the rest of it is not out of the realm of reality in things that some of us have to deal with in life. Things going wrong just when we think we have them figured out, makes the story easy to relate to the story line. The characters and their interactions are well written and developed. There are no awkward instances where the conversation or interaction is awkward unless it was intended to be an awkward interaction within the story. There is a nice flow to this book and there are high points and low points that the main character goes through and it just seems to work well. Now what didn't work for me was being able to telegraph what character was responsible for what and also how the story was actually going to end. This might have been just me but with each incident in the book I knew what or who was responsible. Here is where the writing telegraphed itself for me and I prefer a little more mystery but overall it was not badly done. If you are looking for a romance story that is not all flowers and rainbows this may be one to consider.
