Porno Poet

Australia's "The Porno Poet" was an anonymous scribe who scandalized the parochial South Australian capital city of Adelaide in 2007-2009 by reading "obscene" verse at the town's arts-conscious literary establishment, the ironically named "Friendly Street".

Threatened with physical violence, accused of witchcraft (the first time an Australian poet had been so accused since the 1950s) and denounced with a derogatory moniker pinned on him by no less than a spokesperson from the South Australian Writers' Centre (an organization dedicated to supporting writers), "The Porno Poet" disappeared as suddenly as he arrived after his work was banned and the microphone turned off during his performances.

Never heard from again, his one volume of controversial, censored poetry is now available for a limited time only.
