Smashwords Interview

What's the story behind your latest book?
"Seduced by Shark Shifters III: Tom's Turn" brings back most of the characters we met in the first two books and a few more. This book, as you may have guessed from the title, is written from the point of view of Tom, the guy who has been in love with Logan since middle school, and ended up finding him married to a shark shifter. The hard thing for Tom and Logan has always been the fact that they are best friends, and like many best friends, their relationship has often questioned what it might be like if they were romantically entangled. I love this book, and I love Tom. Tom is the kind of guy who normally puts other people first, and spends his life taking care of others, especially Logan. In this book, Tom is pissed. He wants to know why Logan was able to go gay with someone else, but not with him, and it doesn't help that Logan's husband, Stefano, is sexy, wealthy, and has a great house. Tom comes into his own in this story, and may Logan does too. I will let you read it and decide that for yourself.
What are you working on next?
I am finishing up the fourth book in the sharks shifters series. It's called "Seduced by Shark Shifters IV: Mark's Midlife." I hope to wrap up all the little details and get that published by the end of August. The story still follows the same family that we have met in the other books. Mark is actually Sam and Logan's gay uncle. I originally said that my goal with this series was to explore different aspects of male sexuality, but I think that perhaps that word sexuality is a little misleading here. I feel like I have actually just been looking at the way people love. Mark is older than Logan and Sam, and I am excited about getting to show love from a sexy uncle's point of view. The series is actually called "By the Water" because I plan to explore other types of shifters and places other than Shark Beach. Mark's story delves into some of that and I can't wait for readers to experience this. Mark is going to open the door to what I guess we can best call a spin-off series of books. In September I will be releasing a book called "Captive." It's characters are also middle aged, but in a very, very sexy way. That book was extremely fun to write, and I will be glad to get it out to all my readers.

Sam White's independence and drive got him into law school and helped him survive his mother's death. This same strength draws twins, Derek and Wyn, to Sam, but what starts as a friendship soon changes as the twins tell Sam they are in love with him. This book should only be read by adults. It contains graphic male on male sex with a man making love to twins, polyamory, and bloody violence.

  • The Secret Beneath Engelsburg on Feb. 24, 2015

What a fun read! Sexy Aussies (not that there are any other kind), a gothic setting, and best of all, erotica with a plot. The author's second book (advertised in the back) looks interesting also.
  • His Window on Dec. 19, 2015

I was really impressed with the fact that she tackled a big issue like homelessness in this story. The main character is easy to relate to and understand, and the parents are adorable. She does a good job of creating a romance around real life type events so that it's a book that more about people and not just about a relationship. She gets you to care about the characters, and the stories, and then adds the romantic moments. Nice touch!
  • Water Weaver (Wraidd Elfennol, #2) on Nov. 26, 2017

Somewhere between Oz and Narnia, and not that far from the little alley that takes you to Hogwart’s, is a beautiful island called Wraidd Elfennol. The way that Rick Riordan brings to life the traditions of the Ancient Egyptians, Greeks, and Norse, Morgan Sheppard pulls her readers into the not so forgotten world of the Welsh, where magic is a way of life, and nature is something strong and powerful that must be kept in order. With strong characters and magnificent details, Sheppard takes her readers on an odyssey that leaves them laughing, gasping, and begging for more. A story that appeals to old and young alike, Water Weaver is as educational as it is page turning as it follows young and gifted Marella on her journey to discover who she is and what she is made of when she and the other Chosen of Wraidd Elfennol must travel to mystical lands in a desperate attempt to save their tranquil world from all the harm that can come from a world out of balance. Sheppard does her own weaving as she blends humor, fact, and poignant life lessons into a piece that reads like an articulate friend telling you a fascinating story in front of a cozy fire. She had hooked me with Marella, the first book in this series, but now I am an addict. Water Weaver is an extraordinary read that leaves you craving exotic foods, a warm cup of tea, and her next book.
  • Marella (Wraidd Elfennol, #1) on Nov. 26, 2017

Whether you are a young adult, or just young at heart, you are bound to love "Marella." I'm still not sure what I enjoyed most about this novel. In the beginning, I was impressed with the author's detailed and flavorful world building as she draws us into a world of wonder with delightful characters who care about each other and the world they live in. It's a world full of animals who bond with people and the hint of magic bound in realism. I soon found myself as protective of the main character as her family while I watched her begin her journey into adulthood. An explanatory and intriguing ending are sending me off to the next book in this series with the sincere hope that Morgan Sheppard will be writing many more in this series because I just found my new book addiction.
