Smashwords Interview

How do you discover the ebooks you read?
I primarily read two types of books. The first is non-fiction related to writing and publishing. I find these books by listening to different podcasts. The second type of book I read is Christian non-fiction. These are typically recommended to me by professors or pastors.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Haha not entirely. I know I used to be obsessed with fantasy worlds when I was growing up so I am positive my story was a combination of Final Fantasy and Lord of the Rings.

  • Lessons from Joel - Discovering a God of Second Chances on Jan. 31, 2016

Joel is a short book but often difficult to dig into. The book is immersed in its own history and it can be a challenge to pull out applicable insights. Author Alice William does an excellent job of bridging that gap and making available the fruit present in Joel. The book dives into 7 distinct points, ranging from disobedience to blessing in the book of Joel. My favorite part of this book is how she ties these theme together across Scripture – using Joel as her starting point and wrangling in relevant insights from both the Old and New Testaments. Alice takes her time with the verses in questions and produces a book that is well worth the reader’s time.
